Those swatches should be activated on hover. Would make them a lot more discoverable.

On another pass through the North Face site, I see that the color swatches, underneath the product image, are actually clickable and switches the product image to the new color. Great for the user to be able to easily see different colors - but it should be called out better. I don't think most users are going to realize that the swatches are actually active links, but great idea none the less.

In addition to the fantastic product photography, North Face also provides the customer with a quick view of the available colors. Giving the customer an easy way to compare products is also a great feature for the customer. Combine all this with an outstanding design and the North Face has a visually stunning and extremely usable e-commerce store.
